Drying is controlled moisture removal. The goal is to dry clean plant material thoroughly without trapping humidity in storage.
Air drying
Small bundles or single layers can work well in a warm, dry, well-ventilated location away from contamination.
Screen or rack drying
Spreading plant material in a thin layer improves airflow and makes inspection easier.
Dehydrators
A food dehydrator can provide more controlled airflow. Use a temperature appropriate to delicate plant material and follow the appliance instructions.
Know when it is dry
Material should feel thoroughly dry before sealing. If you are uncertain, continue drying rather than trapping residual moisture.
