How to Store Dried Herbs

Store dried herbs in clean, labeled containers protected from moisture, heat and light.

Gardening first.

Practical cultivation, honest product analysis, and a clear line between traditional plant context and medical advice.

Storage begins only after plant material is thoroughly dry. Moisture trapped in a sealed container can ruin an otherwise successful harvest.

Use clean, dry containers

Choose containers that close reliably and are suitable for dry food or botanical storage.

Label everything

Record the plant name and harvest or drying date. Never rely on memory when dried leaves or flowers look similar.

Protect from heat, light and humidity

A cool, dry cupboard is generally preferable to a sunny windowsill or humid room.

Inspect periodically

Discard material that develops visible mold, unexpected moisture or other signs of spoilage.
